Community Transformation Begins with YOU

Thousands of Kearney area residents are impacted in some way by United Way and its partner agencies every year. Your contribution to United Way through an employee campaign has helped transform people's lives.

  • Over 800 coats will be distributed to children in October.
  • Children who are victims of abuse or neglect experience support from agencies such as Compass, Family Advocacy Network or CASA.
  • Girls in KCLC programs at Emerson, Central, Northeast, Bryant and Kenwood are able to participate in Girl Scouts for free through funding from United Way.
  • Many children prepare for Kindergarten and academic success through programming at Head Start.
  • Approximately 50 children receive scholarships to participate in extra-curricular activities such as Loper Launch, swimming, or sports through United Way every year.
  • Children in low income neighborhoods access free books from United Way's Free Little Libraries.
  • Students in elementary programs have access to mentors through the Friends Program. The Friends Program hopes to increase its number of adult mentors.

Healthy Community Begins with YOU

Financial Security Begins with YOU

  • RAFT helps families who are homeless transition into successful living situations by teaching financial management, mental health and health supports, home care, and so much more over the course of 2 years.
  • United Way sponsors 4 local Little Free Pantries to provide sundry pantry items to individuals. These are located in readily accessible areas for low income people to visit at any time of the day without any barriers.
